So, here I am… Sitting at the beach as we speak writing my first article about my new adventure.
Almost a week ago I left my safe home to travel for as long as I want. Or till my money runs out. It depends, haha.
I am currently exploring Bali and this is my fourth day on Nusa Lembongan, a small island at the east coast of Bali.
It only takes you 30 minutes by a fast boat to get here. I intended to stay here for 2 nights, but tonight
will be my 4th night already. This island is so relax, lot’s of diving schools and nice people. It is also less crowded than most beaches on Bali.
My first experience here is that the Indonesian people I’ve met so far are so, so kind. Since I am always a bit paranoid
when it comes to new surroundings, the people here make me feel relaxed and safe. Saying goodbye to my friends, family and safe place back home was harder than I thought, so I am very happy that everything here is super nice and that I am enjoying myself.
I am currently staying in a low-budget homestay called Surya Homestay. The showers are cold and sometimes there is no electricity, but I love staying here. The people are so sweet and the coffee is amazing. I have my own private room and bathroom for just € 10,- a night. So no complaining from my side. Besides the occasionally ‘Eeeeek” when the cold shower hits me.
I am on the northern part of the Island close to the Blue Corner Diving resort. I wanted to get my Padi here, but since the weather is not the best and the waters are quite rough I changed my mind. It is one of the best diving schools on this island, so if you’re looking for a place to get your Padi/Open Water/Advanced I would definitely recommend this place. Best spot to
see the Manta Rays. They also throw nice parties.
Tomorrow I will go back to Bali – Uluwatu and on Monday my surf camp at La Point will start, so excited!! Still have so many things on my list that I want to visit, so I hope I can do it all. Two weeks at this gorgeous place really is to short.
